SVP Brand Strategy Director

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of Brand Strategy serves as a strategic leader on the assigned account, ensuring business health and growth through geographic strategic development and best practice identification, and ultimately impacting the quality of the strategic and creative products the team produces.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As the strategic lead on US business, you’ll be focused on fostering team collaboration and integrated solutions that help efficiently and effectively achieve the business objective. You’ll have overall responsibility for understanding business and consumer issues, identifying insights, writing briefs and conducting integrated briefings on several brands with the ability to mentor and train junior strategists. In this role, you’ll work closely and collaboratively with account, media, digital and creative teams across the account and agency, while thinking pro-actively about business and creative opportunities beyond current projects. 

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Devises and manages global brand strategies in collaboration with clients and account team.
  • Works with clients to develop integrated briefs and develops specific roles for the brand across channels; puts together inspiring and insightful integrated briefings.
  • Develops key client relationships with local market key players and strategic partners.
  • Review and guide local market strategic plans.
  • Becomes essential resource for all local market clients and strategic planners.
  • Is seen as one of the senior members of the strategy practice, inputting in the development of new thinking and approaches through proven results.
  • Contributes to agency IP through articles, presentations and conference speaking, especially about global brand building.
  • Primary lead on large new business pitches (global or national).

 

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION

  • BA preferred.
  • Currently Group Planning Director or Senior Planner.
  • 10+ years of strategic planning experience in strong planning environments.
  • Experience developing integrated campaigns essential.
  • Experience working on complex global brands.
  • Deep experience in the CPG category strongly preferred.
